On 14th June, the students of the Parochial School made their way to Stewart’s lawn for the annual Sports Day. There was much fun and sport had at the event, and thankfully the anticipated rain held off.
Following the fun and games, students, parents and special visitors made their way back to the school for a delicious spread of snacks and goodies.
Medals were presented to the students by Rory Anderson (a past pupil of the school), Eamon Scanlon, Richard Kennedy and Frank Feighan. The newly appointed ‘Sports Day Champion’ perpetual shield and individual cup were presented to Matyas Vrabel, for his outstanding performance at Sports Day.
The children relayed some of the activities of the year including accounts of the Senior’s trip to Dublin, a recorder recital of Molly Malone, an end of year presentation by the Juniors and some well known songs from the year. Ms. Lynch also presented the outgoing senior students with their print artwork framed to remind them of their time in Boyle Parochial.
The festivities ended with a word of thanks from Mrs. Joy Little, member of the Board of Management, who commended both the students and teachers for their dedicated work throughout the year.
